Boy or Girl?

It is too early to say whether Baby Yen will be a girl or boy. However, during ultrasound today, the technician said that her guess is a boy. Jerry asked her how likely she is correct? 50/50, 60/40, or 70/30? Usually more than 60/40 and 70/30 she said. So we will see if Baby Yen turns out to be a boy. Its heartbeat at 13weeks is 150.

Cravings

Mommy craved for the following food during her first trimester:
  • sour cream & onion potato chips
  • burrito with beans and sour cream
  • pickles and meat, especially beef
  • occasionally ice cream, but not as much as anything that is sour or meat
Mommy is going in to her second trimester tomorrow.

First Doctor's Visit

Mommy and Daddy met Baby Yen for the first time on Friday March 14, 2008 over ultrasound. The nurse practitioner gave us information and congratulated us before she conducted the ultrasound. However, Mommy was a little skeptical and did not want to accept the fact that she was pregnant unless she could see Baby Yen’s heartbeat. So the whole time that the nurse was explaining what tests Mommy needs to do during her pregnancy, Mommy was not paying attention. But after she saw Baby Yen through the ultrasound, she was elated with joy. Daddy, being a great listener, knows what tests Mommy needs to do and is making sure that Mommy remembers to schedule appointments at the Stanford Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital so that Baby Yen is healthy. The nurse practitioner told Mommy that Baby Yen is healthy and developing normally. Baby Yen was 9 weeks and 2 days at the time. Tomorrow, Baby Yen will be 11 weeks.

It's Positive!

Yes. We are expecting our first. Our baby is due October 18, 2008.
